Jesus Plays Football, Soccer and Baseball too.
I'm sure you've seen it. The football player thanking god, pointing to the sky as he enters the end-zone. The pitcher getting the strike-out and pointing to the "heavens" above. I know I have. I've heard fathers at sporting events talking about how they pray their kid does well in a game or that the child's team does x or y.
I've read the bible 4x. I've studied theology. I missed where scripture, covenants and Jesus mentioned he was into athletic events. Sick - check. Poor - check. Depraved - check. People un-like Christians - check. It's simply not there.
While visiting the hospitals I've been to I see kids with cancer, born without a lung, and one with an arm bitten off by a dog. I'm thinking Jesus should be occupied with these kids. Seems like he is not though. Because I've seen many die too. The fact is, if Jesus is not assisting these kids you can bet damn well he's not playing football. People need to really start thinking about what they are doing and how they are representing Christianity. Common sense seems to be missing these days.
